The Chinese-American Horn Quartet – horn studio members Olivia Langner, Kangcheng Li, Anthony Sinicrope, and Daoji Yang – were in residence in Beijing, China during March 22-29. They performed at the Beijing Central Conservatory, an elite academic high school, and toured the Briz horn factory. It wasn’t all work – they also went sightseeing at the Great Wall, Tienamen Square, sampled one of the street markets. Daoji’s father, an official at the Beijing People’s Police College (BPPC), let us ride in their high-speed chase vehicles. Dr. G performed as well, and gave masterclasses at both schools. Dr. Pascal Salomon, our horn studio accompanist, joined us on the trip and also gave lessons and masterclasses.
